Improving Designs in the Social Sciences (IDSS) is an interdisciplinary working group at UCLA with the goal of helping faculty and graduate students develop research projects in which they make credible causal inferences to address substantive research questions. The group also serves to generate new collaborations between its faculty and graduate student members.
In addition to the research conducted by members, the primary activity of IDSS is its weekly workshop. Read more about the workshop. We also hold an annual competition for small grants to enable early-stage research by graduate students.
